Schatz 3207 / 5207 double row ball bearing, made in USA

Schatz is a very old U.S. bearing company, formerly operating as Federal-Schatz. Since the early 80’s they downsized to concentrate on profitable areas.

Open bearing, no seals or shields.

(This is a conrad type bearing. If the bearing you are replacing has loading slots in one side, you have a max type bearing. Max type carries heavier load but little thrust).

Interchanges with SKF 3207A / 5207A, MRC 5207C, FAG 3207B. This particular bearing uses a “snap in” style cage.

Note, because these are not greased, if you spin them by hand, they sound “scratchy”, it is because of the style cage this bearing uses and the lack of lube. The noise will go away once greased or run in oil.
